METALLICA
Metallica est un groupe de thrash metal américain formé le 28 octobre 1981.[2] Ils ont obtenu un très grand succès pour chacun de leurs albums. Avec plus de 100 millions de disques vendus à travers le monde,[3],[4] dont 57 millions aux États-Unis.[5],[6](en moyenne, près de vingt mille albums par semaine sont achetés dans le monde ce qui le place en tête des plus gros vendeurs de metal au monde). Metallica est considéré comme étant l'un des groupes qui forment le "Big four"[7]des groupes de thrash metal, aux côtés de Megadeth, Slayer et Anthrax.

Le groupe a reçu jusqu'à maintenant six Grammy Awards et a reçu les honneurs de MTV les intronisant « Icônes du Rock ».

Metallica (en tant qu'entité) est classé vingt-troisième parmi les cent célébrités les plus puissantes toutes categories confondues (show-bizz, sport, littérature), juste après JK Rowling (Harry Potter). Dans l'industrie musicale, ils sont à la quatrième place,[8] après Madonna, Elton John et Puff Daddy.
